Happy Friday! Are these warm weekends breathing a little extra life into anyone else? We are especially looking forward to this one because I just got the Getting ready to board plane. Can't wait to see my girls text from Andy. Dad is headed home! Woohoo!  Miss that guy when he is gone. ;) 

We have tons of exciting things to look forward to in the next couple months, including both girls' birthdays. Sigh. Lately, whenever Marin gets asked how old she is, she proudly says, "I am almost FWEE and Britey is almost ONE!" Then my heart breaks a little. BUT when my heart is done melting to mommy mush, I start getting excited for birthday parties for these little ones. How was this week 15 days long? Both girls have been sick with colds and now ear infections, so it has made for a bit of a bruiser, BUT it is officially the weekend and the girls are slowly starting to feel better, so lots of reasons to celebrate.  Unlike the last few weekends, this one should be pretty low key which sounds marvelous from this snot-covered vantage point. In other good news, I was up super early this morning, so here we have a few Friday favorites.  I've really been loving the creature themed clothing that's everywhere right now, and these are a few of the pieces I especially like.  Enjoy! Happy Friday, friends! We are at the beach this week, chasing the last remaining days of Summer. The mornings have been filled with salty air, the aroma of coffee and the cooing of babies. Be still my beating heart. How will they ever get me to leave? Sigh. 
Anyway, more from this last beach hurrah coming soon; for now I wanted to share some of the toddler wear I've been eyeing lately.  Our resident toddler has turned out to be the girliest of girls, proclaiming at random through out the day "I WUV PINK!" So, in honor of the girly girls and having one foot in Summer and one in Fall, here are a few of my favorite toddler things.

 Somewhere smack dab in the middle of July, Marin jumped to size 4T clothes and size 9 shoes, leaving us with a bit of a wardrobe conundrum.  Since Summer's end is quickly approaching, I don't have any plans on restocking her closet, but I also don't want the poor girl to walk around waiting for the flood to come in either.  Here are a couple black and white pieces that I'm eyeing for her right now, just a few things that will carry her to the end of our warm Georgia days. I hope you and yours are having a good week! 

I TAKE MY JUMPSUITS LITERALLY

As the evidence from date night shows, I’m on a bit of a jumpsuit binge lately.  So let’s chat about the perks of a jumpsuit because they are bountiful, friends. 

1.) There is no stress over matching a shirt and pants...it’s just too much sometimes, no?

2.) Now for the perk that some mistake for a jumpsuit quandary- urination.  Okay, so it takes a while, and your hubby will start to wonder what happened to you because you are usually pretty quick when visiting the ladies room.  But then comes the upside.  You will hear a small knock on the door and your hubby saying, “You okay, sweety?”  Then you will smile and remember what a catch of a guy you have. This will be followed by feeling all googly-eyed and in looooove.  It’s basically a romance novel wrapped into one outfit. 

3.) And last but not least, you have that rare and coveted photo opportunity to take the name of this particular article of clothing literally.  And what other piece in your closet allows for such a brilliant stroke of coincidence?  

Yep, not a single downside, well, only if you wear a nude belt that could possibly be mistaken for your stomach by a few passersby.  Minor detail when you have this here jumpsuit to fall back on.   

I’m off to attack this Monday in my yoga pants.  Whomp whomp.

UNORDINARY THINGS HAPPEN IN ORDINARY OUTFITS

I dream in Neutral by megwallblog featuring lucky brand shoes

In our day-to-day life, I pretty much wear the same thing on repeat.  In my dreams I wear designer clothes, but that’s also the dream where I shower every day.

So, this is basically it, and I love it because it’s comfy and cute.  It’s right there in that sweet spot where twenty something meets thirty something. It’s also the kind of outfit I could meet my neighbors in because it says I look like I could have been at lunch with a friend or gardening or paying bills. It’s just all around neautral, but not boring neutral, more like Switzerland neutral.  It’s a good everyday type of thing.

Some parts of our life stay the same from day-to-day, like this outfit. I find comfort in the constants. 

But some parts of life keep changing, a different quirk every day, which I also find comfort in.

Last week while wearing these exact clothes, I got that mischievous look in my eye and waltzed over to Andy sitting on our bed. He was unaware a predator was approaching. I dropped Marin on his lap, already out of her messy dinner clothes.  I then yanked off her diaper and ran away yelling “The diaper terrorist has struck!” He looked at me like…righhhhht, just before letting me know Marin was wetting my side of the bed. 

I was also wearing this outfit last weekend.  Andy was getting ready to use our new electric mower, so Marin and I sat at the window to wave and smile at Dada mowing the lawn.  For some reason I didn’t expect the lawnmower to have an actual chord.  Up one side, move the chord out of the way, and back down he went.  Marin kept yelling Dada and for some reason I couldn’t quit giggling at the sight of it all because it looked like he was vacuuming our lawn while a mini human cheered him on.  I can’t wait until next Saturday.  I will bring my bag-o-popcorn. 

Happy Thursday, friends. I’m off to launder my outfit, so I can jump out of my other staple, my pajamas.

I’m feeling inspired by turquoise right now, the big chunky kind that girls wear in pictures taken in obscure deserts and far off places.  I’m going to get me some of this turquoise; then I’m going to go find me a far off place to wear it. Dress: Asos/Shoes: Target/Jeans:AE

This is a BIG baggy dress that I wore as an even BIGGER shirt. And I love it. Does Andy love it too? No, sir-ee.  But you know how it is, there are just some days when that little girl inside wants out, the one who would walk into the kitchen in her swimsuit or hodge podge outfit, proclaiming to her mom (or man in this case) “Today, I want to wear dis!”  So there you have it.  Dis is what I wore.

In other news, our condo is beginning to look like a barren land as we prepare to put it on the market, so of course; we three amigos danced around like wild Indians in an empty living room the other night because it was making a little baby with a cold crack up. Round and round and round.
